Apache ExtendedROM unlocker

Postby buzz_lightyear » Thu Dec 29, 2005 11:32 am

Hi all,
i just made an Extended ROM unlocker for APACHE.

DOWNLOAD

Usage:
- unpack the archive APA_ext_rom_unlock.rar
- copy APA_ext_rom_unlock.exe over to your device
- run APA_ext_rom_unlock.exe on your device
- reboot

If you get "SUCCESS" popup, then your Extended ROM was unlocked, that means you can alter it's content, remove it or put your own content into ExtROM partition.

THANX inane for needed input

AFAIK, Wizard''s Extended ROM is by default UNLOCKED.
You just need to unhide it.

Hi buzz,

Starting from Wizard ROM 1.6.x.x (New T-Mobile and Qtek ROM), the Extended ROM is LOCKED... which makes many Wizard owns fallback to the old ROMs.

The original "wizard ext rom unlocker" can only unhide it but it is still "write protected".

I wish buzz and others to create a real unlock tool for wizard.

Thanks in advance.

Stopped working???

Postby ronrob777 » Tue Jan 17, 2006 2:26 am

After my eailier success I used my new tool to scope out the extended rom. After further research I found that the cabs that load during the custom settup following a hard reset arn't ness and just install junkware. I have reset the 6700 without any of the cabs that were in the extended rom being installed and the device runs great and I have tons of free storage space BUT...........I tried to reinstall the rom unlocker and I get the SUCCESS message but I cant see the extended rom at all. I was hoping to install some goodies in that space. Any Sugestions?
Thanks, Ron:S

there is another cab you can install that will make the extended_rom show up as a folder both on the ppc and the pc.
